Question about Rule 14 in the SSO

14) Forced Email Opt-Ins. Sellers must not force email opt-ins from customers in order for customers to gain access to their purchase. A request can be made to subscribe to a mailing list, but buyers must be given the option to opt out of doing so and still be able to access the purchase.

 

 

So typically I have offers set up so that buyers are automatically added to a list. They don't need to opt in as the list is there to be able to send updates to the buyer on what they have purchased (as well as contact them about new products they might like).

 

It is an aweber list so they can opt out as well.

 

Is this an issue?

 

I am happy to disclose that they will be added to an updates list that they can opt out of at any time.

I re-worded it a bit. The basic point is that you can have people signup to a list in order to have the product delivered to them, but they must have the option to opt-out afterwards and not be forced to continue to stay on the list in order to still have access to whatever they bought.
