Honestly, I have learned that when someone tries to bait you into lowering yourself to their level, the only way you can win is to deprive them of the satisfaction of getting you to do so. I have much more strength and self-control than he has venom, if that's humanly possible.

#1 Automatic weapons are not legal in the U.S. (barring a few exceptions).

 

#2 The dems often refer to semi-auto as auto.....another lefty lie.

 

#3 Nobody is advocating for automatic weapons that I know of.

I am for the right to own and carry guns, nothing more.  The Ar-15 is one of the most popular weapons of subsistence livers in Alaska, I could care less if the banned them in the States, however.

 

I grew up in a family of hunters, we hunted for food. We owned rifles, shotguns, and handguns but we never had an "assualt rifle."

 

The standard NRA tow would be all in for the AR-15....I'm not that way. Nowhere close.

 

I have no idea what machine guns have to do with this thread...this ain't the 1940's.

 

I have also shot skeet and target practice, and what I can tell you is most of the NRA members are as responsible as anyone on earth when it comes to being responsible when carrying and discharging firearms.

 

Criminals, gangs, the mentally ill, and terrorists are the big problem. Most of those folks you won't find paying dues to the NRA, and you won't find a lot of them hunting deer or pheasant either.

What you said seems pretty reasonable to me.

In regards to #2 from my personal observation, I have observed that language used (incorrectly) in regards to weapons that either have an optional "burst firing mode" or can be easily modified to be fully automatic. Example: AK-47s can be modified (illegally) to be fully automatic. This does not mean that some individuals have done exactly what you said, I'm sure somebody has, this country has a small army of politicians, and I'm sure as the blanket statement that : everything that can be said, has already been said, on virtually every subject, by somebody.
