Enjoyed the video - great refresher! Haha probably about a year ago I saw a few really well-ranking competitors getting links from this website below. Almost considered it, but once I looked and actually realized it was a giant network wouldn't even consider it.

I also seem to have a theory that Google gives more juice to links from pages that rank well for keywords and actually get organic traffic. Not sure if that is something you've discussed before or not, but like even if a referring page doesn't have a ton of backlinks, but ranks well for keywords and gets real traffic I still feel like that is something that might be looked at. Thoughts?

Hey Ryan.

Glad you enjoyed the video.

I'm trying to put together a few more videos. Next few I have planned are updated videos on silos and one about keyword research using competitors and SEMrush.

I'm also thinking about redoing the entire private network course and putting it on YouTube for free.

I was toying with the idea of making myself do 2 videos a week for the rest of the year. I haven't been creating much content lately and I do enjoy it.

As for links being stronger from already ranking pages, yes I agree. Pretty sure I have discussed that in the private area a few years ago. Here is the problem though. If someone is ranking, even if it is only in the top 50 or top 30 for that keyword, why would they want to link to you? They are probably trying to rank themselves. It's tough to get those kind of links.

On the other hand, if you can get multiple pages on your own site ranking for the same keywords, and then build links off of those pages, you can push your primary page up pretty easily.

Most SEOs freak out when they see that and think they are going to suffer from "keyword cannibalization." Instead, I see it as an opportunity to build stronger internal links if I have not done so already.

buying links is rarely worth the money., because it’s riskier and more expensive than building “natural” links (in most cases).

I completely disagree with that statement. Buying links is fine.

That is a different discussion though. I think you missed the whole point of the video, or didn't watch it at all.
